Vertiginous above the Alzou canyon, the town of Rocamadour is built into the side of a cliff.
It’s a long climb, punctuated by exceptional monuments and superb viewpoints.
Alongside the pilgrimsyour steps will take you from a church carved into the rock to a castle perched as if balanced on the cliff.
A 2.5-hour loop takes in all this exceptional heritage at once: the grand staircase, the Notre-Dame de Rocamadour sanctuary, the Saint-Sauveur basilica and the Saint-Amadour crypt.
The walk ends with the Way of the Cross and the castle. From the ramparts, you can overlook the entire canyon and city.

You’ll enjoy the commentary of your guide along the way. In the heart of the city, the main street is packed with stores and restaurants.

A whole day can be spent exploring the town, browsing its stores and enjoying its viewpoints. You can easily come back to visit the wildlife parks, hike in the surrounding area or enjoy an unusual activity, such as a hot-air balloon flight over the Alzou canyon.
