Marcilhac-sur-Célé is a small, pretty town 10 min upstream towards Figeac and a visit can be combined with a refreshing pause at the river.
In fact, there are two beaches. One is the small peninsula just by the water-mill vis-à-vis the bakery, accessible by a small bridge. The other one is located at the other end of the village close to the parking. Both have comfortable grassy and sandy spots, shaded by trees and with beautiful views to the opposite cliffs. A delicious bakery, shops, grocery, restaurants and a little café&shop «Caravan Café» with a collection of beautiful handcrafted decorations from all over the world are at your service.
A stroll in the village will lead you through romantic passages to the «Abbey of Marcilhac», a historic monument, where many concerts throughout the summer are organized.
Every Tuesday evening the town hosts its own colourful market with local products, a variety of food to eat on the spot, drinks and concerts.
